Amazonite is an excellent stone for balancing masculine and feminine energies within the self. It brings calmness in times of stress, but also gently and subtly increases energy, self-confidence and motivation when needed. It helps to release anger and frustration and aids compassion. This can be really useful when frustration is directed back at oneself, and could lead to self-destructive behaviour, thus freeing the energy that is stuck in self judgement and criticism, so that we can express the beauty of our true being.

Amazonite was named for the Amazon River in South America, but nowadays comes from Russia, Australia, Madagascar and Brazil.
It is a light bluish green feldspar, often with white streaks and sometimes with a beautiful sheen.
