Owl is the symbol of the moon, the feminine and insight. Owl is believed to have great healing powers. Because of its association with the moon, it is also tied into fertility, seduction, illusion and mystery. Owl is a bird of magick,prophecy and darkness, of prophecy and wisdom. The Greeks associated the owl with Athena, and it was the symbol of higher wisdom and understanding. Hekate is also associated with Owl as Her messenger, and prophecy. Native Americans saw Owl as an omen.
Owl Medicine is often symbolically associated with clairvoyance, astral projection and magick.
Owl can see and hear what might normally be hidden. Owl is the bird of the night and has long been the symbol of the darkness within—the place where humans hide their secrets. Owl can instantly adjust its sight to respond to even minute changes in light intensity, and are specially adapted to detect the most subtle movements. Its yellow eyes reflect the light of the Sun active within the Night; the Light penetrating the Darkness.
Those with Owl Medicine will be able see and hear what others may try to hide; they see what is not visible in the shadows, hear what is not said aloud, and read between the lines to see the truth of a situation. Crystal skulls have become increasingly popular in recent years. There are many stories about ancient crystal skulls, and many attitudes, beliefs and opinions concerning modern carvings. Lots of people ask, ‘What are they for?’
For many people, there is an initial discomfort – even revulsion. In our culture we often associate skulls with death, and since we have a strange relationship with death, they can be objects of fear. The skull, as a symbol, is used to warn us of poison!

The skull, as part of the skeleton, does speak to us of the ephemeral nature of life. While the human skull will become dust and return to Earth, reminding us of our physicality, a crystal skull will last for millenia - thus reminding us of the timeless nature of our soul and spirit.
Because crystal skulls ‘look like us’, once we have overcome the fear of death/poison/pirates, it is easy to relate to them and we can work with the crystal energy for personal healing on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels: for family, lineage, ancestral, karmic healing; to raise consciousness on many levels; to connect with other forms of consciousness; to work for planetary and cosmic healing.
