Sue Weaver - founder and teacher

I’m Sue Weaver and I founded the Cornwall School of Crystal Healing in 1996, following many requests, to offer workshops, classes and training in crystal healing that are both inspirational and grounded. Since then I have been honoured to introduce many hundreds of people to the world of crystals and crystal healing.

My teaching is based on many years’ practical experience as a healer plus almost 30 years of teaching people about crystals. I am a fully trained teacher in a 'normal world' sense. This is relevant, since knowledge of a subject and the ability to teach it are two completely different skills.

I have always worked with crystals in a shamanic way - not learning lists of ‘which crystal does what’ but connecting spirit to spirit, though I didn’t have a language for what I was doing until I met shamanism a bit later. Working in this way, you may find that your experience with a crystal is not the same as others have described. This is because you are unique, and thus all your relationships are unique. The crystal will reveal to you the aspect/s of its nature that are relevant at that time. You may well have a different experience with the same crystal at a different time in your life.

Many years passed. I grew and changed and the world changed too. There are now thousands of ‘crystal courses’. So, in 2024 we had a review and revamp - considering how to update and respond to a different time without losing the quality and essence.

One of the things I’d observed over many years is that people who came to my courses with ‘diplomas’ and ‘mastery’ knew absolutely nothing about energy and hadn’t even been taught how to ground themselves properly! So we decided that we needed to pay more attention to this and the result was a name change. Cornwall School of Crystal Healing is now Cornwall School of Crystal & Energy Healing.

When I started teaching, you could only buy crystals in Glastonbury or at festivals or ‘healing’ events. Advertising was by simple fliers and posters in wholefood shops! Because I was a teacher, I was able to teach in lots of adult education centres, thus keeping costs low and widening opportunity for many different people. I did the rounds of fairs and shows for many years until I no longer had energy to do so. When I started, no one had a mobile phone and there was no internet. Now people learn about courses in this way. Eventually I adapted and I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved with our shop and online courses. Promotion is a challenge however. We do not take photographs of students nor of what happens in a class. This is because what happens is personal and requires full concentration, but it does present a us with a challenge, especially in such a visual world. How do we show what we actually offer. People have suggested that we stage some classes, but that would go against the authenticity that we value so much and that is a cornerstone of all we do. So, for now, words are all we have to share with you.

Apart from my crystal life, I was born in Lancashire, have a psychology degree from 1970s and a history in social and community work - before crystals chose me and changed my life. I live in Cornwall in the house I moved to in 1984 with a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby. Two more babies were born in this house. My children are all grown and I’m granny to two grandsons. I’m a valley dweller, surrounded by trees and close to water - the stream runs right beside my home. I love this land with a passion and seldom choose to leave the valley. I fiercely protect the energy of my home, the crystal barn and the land and people say that they feel the peace as they come in the gate. We used to hold many ceremonies and gatherings here, but nowadays I choose a much quieter life. We very occasionally open to the public for in person shopping and chats.

Mary Breeze - teacher

I’m Mary, mother, healer and teacher of 20 years. I have been working with crystals for most of my adult life in small ways, becoming more and more curious about how on earth people knew what they could do!

In 2019, serendipity delivered me to Sue’s door for a one-day introductory workshop. I’ve never left.

I began a 2-year crystal healing course ‘just for fun, for myself’…

Embarking on that course changed my life; here I am, working with crystals to heal myself and others and, three years ago, Sue invited me to join her as Co-Teacher at Cornwall School of Crystal and Energy Healing.

It’s amazing how the flow of life brings you to where you need to be at any given moment and how things call to us. Crystals called me during a very difficult chapter of my life and they have never let me go! I now have the great privilege of supporting our students own their own life-changing crystal journeys.

Outside my work with Sue and our school, I was raised in Cornwall, not far from the Crystal Barn and grew up playing in our uniquely beautiful countryside. I moved away and lived many different lives, including one as a jeweller, making special crystal and symbolic jewellery, before the flow of things washed me back to the Tamar Valley.

Here, I run a crystal and shamanic healing practice in Stoke Climsland and Calstock when I’m not with Sue, immersed in our mission to teach the world about crystals and their wonderful magic.

ABOUT All OUR HEALER TRAINING COURSES

You will notice that we don’t have flashy promotions, quick soundbites, bonus offers or silly promises. There are no claims that courses are valued at £x but you can have them for a few pounds. We prefer simplicity and clarity.

We do not promise to train people to become professional healers in a few days. We can’t do that. Courses that do are not offering what we offer nor do they understand the true power of crystal healing and the responsibility that comes with being a healer. These courses exist primarily to provide the course promoters with an income. They are not truly about training healers.

We choose to focus on excellence. We are proud of what we do and are 100% confident in the quality of our courses. If you want a quick, cheap training, then we are not the school for you and you should look elsewhere.
