Mookite is also known as mookite jasper, mookaite, moukite, and there are many other ways of spelling it too. It is named for Mooka Creek in Western Australia, where it is found. Mookaite is a sedimentary rock, formed initially from many tiny sea creatures when the land area was beneath the sea. When the sea levels fell, these sediments, with the addition of silica, became solid rock.

Mookite has been found in many colours, including red, maroon, purple, brown-orange, pale yellow, mustard, ivory, white and pink. Occasionally it has black dendrites – these are valued for creating beautiful cabochons for jewellery.

I have read many descriptions of Mookite which claim that it is a grounding stone, but this is not my experience at all.

While Mookite has some of the stability of Jasper (as I know it) it also has a strong sense of lightness – a very high spirituality – with lots of movement.

Amber is fossilised tree resin. Even though it is not a crystal formed from rock, it is recognised and used as a crystal.

Amber is a ‘feel good stone’. It is beautifully light and gently warming, and flows through you like a soothing golden (but non-sticky!) syrup. If you are feeing lonely, sad, misunderstood, are struggling with life, or need a winter boost, Amber can bring warmth to belly and heart, and remind you of the abundance of Life.

It is also wonderfully protective, without the heaviness of many protective ‘stones’. This makes it excellent for babies, children and pregnant women. Amber is also a traditional remedy for teething.

Rutilated Quartz is a type of Quartz with inclusions such as Rutile, Hematite, Feldspar, Chlorite. ‘Angel Hair’ Quartz gets its name from the very fine silver threads of rutile within it.

It has a high frequency, fast, spiritual energy. On a practical level it is good for tissue healing.
