Colombianite is a very ancient type of Obsidian that first appears to be opaque dark brown but, when held to the light, shows a yellowish colour. It can be very similar in shape to some Moldavites and this led to it being thought to be a Tektite.

It is actually a pseudo tektite, like Agni Manitite and Saffordite.

As with all stones of this type, they are considered sacred by the people of the lands where they are discovered. Colombianite is sometimes known as Piedra Rayo or Lightning Stone.

This stone is fairly new to us and we haven’t yet explored it. I feel quite attracted to it but yet need to learn the secrets.
