Calcite is a common mineral, found in many environments worldwide. Calcite is the main mineral that makes stalagmites and stalactites. It is found in a wonderful range of colours including orange, green, blue, aqua, honey, rosey red and occasionally black.

Although Calcite works as deep and profound levels, it ‘comes in gently’ and can be easier to work with than some other minerals. For this reason I often recommend it for children, and there are 3 Calcites in the Good Night Baby set.

Calcite is a soft mineral, and is seldom made into jewellery. It is easily scratched by other crystals and coins in purses and pockets, so you need to treat it with care. It is good to incorporate in a charm for a child's bedroom.

Aqua Calcite is similar to Green Calcite but are more blue-green in colour, hence the name Aqua. It has both air and water qualities and is very refreshing.

Aqua Calcite is a quietly powerful stone. It is very clearing and cleansing. It can really help us when we find ourselves in 'stuck' places, both emotionally and mentally. With this help, we may be able to let go of habitual patterns of unkindness to ourselves, e.g. not caring for our own needs, judging or criticising ourselves, allowing ourselves to get caught in the dramas of others, allowing others to be unkind to us. 

As we become free, we can find emotional balance, mental peace, spiritual realignment and happiness.
